Danica Patrick to Co-Host American Country Award with Trace Adkins

Danica Patrick is going country.

The NASCAR driver will be joining country singer Trace Adkins as co-host of the American Country Awards. The show will take place at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas. While this will be her first time headlining the ACAs, Adkins has overseen the show since it began four years ago. Last year, his sidekick was Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth.

According to Fox Sports, Patrick said she has been a fan of country music since she joined the NASCAR circuit. She's appeared in videos with Colt Ford and Miranda Lambert.

"I can't wait to see if I have what it takes to keep up with this racing superstar," the Grammy-nominated singer told NASCAR.com.

Adkins' new album of Celtic-infused Christmas carols, ''The King's Gift,'' comes out Oct. 29.

Patrick said her co-host will do just fine.

"I have no doubt he'll be able to keep up with me. I've become a huge fan of country music since I came to NASCAR," she said. "This is going to be a really cool experience and I'm excited to be a part of it. It's going to be a great show!"

Patrick recently celebrated a win on the Food Network "Chopped."

The self-proclaimed foodie, and the Sprint Cup rookie won the Food Network show, beating former NFL player, Tiki Barber, actor/boxer/Hells Angel Chuck Zito and Olympic gold-medalist swimmer Natalie Coughlin.

"[Patrick is] a pro at the stove," said Ted Allen, who hosted the show.

Patrick won with her dish that included peanut butter and chocolate in the middle of the cake. According to USA Today, Patrick has taken classes at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena, Calif. The athletes competed to win $10,000 for their favorite charity. Patrick's charity of choice was the COPD Foundation; her grandmother died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

The American Country Music Awards is set to air on Dec 10.
