Colonel Sanders KFC: NYCC Gets New Comic Based On Fried Chicken Legend – ‘Evil Twin’ Becomes DC Supervillain – Is It Darrell Hammond?

Earlier this year, the second biggest fried chicken chain in America (Chick-Fil-A beat it to the first spot a few years back) launched a new campaign to revive their founder and unofficial mascot, Colonel Sanders KFC, hiring "Saturday Night Live" announcer and former cast member Darrell Hammond would be playing the role - but was he in fact the entrepreneur's evil twin?

Hammond's Colonel Sanders KFC flunked and the fast food chain put another "SNL" alum, Norm MacDonald, in the role of the "real" Colonel, who went on screen to say that the previous one, with his weird laugh, was in fact an impostor - and Kentucky Fried Chicken's taking this so seriously they're even launching a new comic book about the Colonel's misadventures!

According to io9, the fast food chain has teamed up with DC to launch a new Colonel Sanders KFC comic, where the company's symbol teams up with The Flash (yes, you read right) to fight a terrible supervillain: the Colonel's evil twin.

As GQ reports, the comic tells the story of how, in a parallel universe, the Colonel Sanders' KFC evil twin invades the Earth with a most terrible scheme: ripping people off and giving them fake fried chicken instead of the true Colonel's Original Secret Recipe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new Colonel Sanders KFC comic, entitled "The Colonel of Two Worlds," stems from a classic Flash story from 1961, in which Barry Allen travels to a parallel world and meets another Flash; in this scenario, it's the KFC founder who reaches Earth-3, a place where true morality is reversed and bad things are good, which is how the Colonel's evil twin came to be.

This is KFC's second foray into the world of comics, as during the summer they also released a special series telling Colonel Harland Sanders' story, which could be found at San Diego Comic-Con.
