Stevie Wonder and Kai Millard Morris' divorce was finalized after three years since it was filed.
As per Press Of Atlantic City, a Los Angeles judge finalized the music legend's divorce from his second wife on Monday. The judge also stated that the estranged couple will share custody of their children and Wonder will also be expected to pay $25,000 a month in child support.
Grammy winner, Wonder and fashion designer, Morris were married in September 2001 and separated in 2009, but it was only in 2012, when the singer decided and filed to make their split official. In the documents filed, it stated that the couple has been separated since October 2009, and Wonder cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce.
The ex- couple have two sons together, ages 14 and 10.
It is Wonder's second marriage and according to the report of Associated Press, Wonder was the one who filed papers to divorce his fashion designer wife over three years ago.
As per Mail Online, Wonder was first married to fellow Motown singer Syreeta Wright in 1970. After two years of marriage the couple ended their relationship amicably. Currently, he is living with Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, with whom he has two kids. He also has five children from previous relationships.
This is not the first time celebrity couples brought along a judge in between to settle their failing marriages. In 2005 Denise Richards filed a divorce against Charlie Sheen, the same year Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey also did the same. In 2006, Britney Spears divorced Kevin Federline, the decision was finalized the following year. Anna Faris and Ben Indra shocked the world in 2007, when they announced they are divorcing, Faris later said, "fame destroyed my first marriage."
Just recently many power couple also announced that they are divorcing, including Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck and Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale.
