Anna Paquin: Rogue Won’t Be On Channing Tatum’s Gambit Movie, Is ‘True Blood’ Star Done With ‘X-Men’?

It's been 15 years since the first time Anna Paquin's Rogue appeared on big screens all over the world, but the now 33 year-old actress, who won an Oscar at 11 for "The Piano," has now stated she won't be in the next film that could have involved her character, "Gambit."

Only last year, Anna Paquin's Rogue made a big appearance, when the two timelines from the "X-Men" movies came together for "X-Men: Days of Future Past" co-starring Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult; now, as a Channing Tatum-starring film makes its way to production, Paquin isn't involved.

According to IGN, it seems like there were a lot of excited fans asking the "True Blood" alum whether Anna Paquin's Rogue would be coming back for the 2016-scheduled film, and her answer was pretty clear: nope!

As USA Today reports, in the comic books, the characters of Rogue and Gambit are in fact romantically involved, though this is only going to be the second time that Remy LeBeu makes an appearance in the big screen after Taylor Kitsch in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," and while it's unclear if his comic book love will be joining him, one thing is clear: it won't be Anna Paquin's Rogue stepping in.

While the ages seem to match (Tatum is currently 35, while Anna Paquin's Rogue, as the actress herself, would be 33), at least so far there are no plans for the "Jane Eyre" star to make a comeback as her mutant character, though so far there have only been two cast members announced for the project, namely Tatum and "Spectre" actress Léa Seydoux.

According to The Inquisitr, though, there might be some hope to see Paquin coming back as the memory-absorbing mutant, as when she was further asked about the film on Twitter, she said that her previous reply of a simple "no" wasn't a press release but rather her answering with the information she currently has.

Hopefully, Anna Paquin's Rogue will be back for the 2016 film!
