Amber Tamblyn Joins 'Two and a Half Men': Will Play Charlie Sheen's Lesbian Daughter

Charlie Sheen's character on "Two and a Half Men" may have been killed off the show, but his memory will live on once actress Amber Tamblyn joins the cast.

The 30-year old actress will play Sheen's long-lost lesbian daughter for the show's 11th season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tamblyn's character moves to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career and connect with what is left of her family.

The actress will appear in at least five episodes of the CBS comedy, with an option to become a series regular, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

During the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, show creator Chuck Lorre said adding Tamblyn as a lesbian character to the show will change one major aspect of Men.

"I think it would be great to have a voice on the show from a different perspective," Lorre said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime."

Lorre said Tamblyn's presence on the show will allow writers to create a character who can keep the men of the show on their toes. The CBS series was renewed back in April.

"Part of the fun in this has been creating a character that is equal to the task of stepping on the stage with Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher. That's a big job," Lorre said. "The idea of the character brings a healthy amount of decadence, which is always fun on 'Two and a Half Men'."

Tamblyn is reportedly replacing Angus T. Jones, who is no longer a full-time cast member for season 11. Although he'll likely recur in some capacity, despite causing controversy after calling the series "filth," according to the Huffington Post.

Tamblyn is best known for her role in "The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants," which also starred Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel and America Ferrera.

The actress is no stranger to television having appeared on shows such as "General Hospital," "Joan of Arcadia," "Boston Public," "CSI: Miami" and most recently "House." The actress married "Arrested Development" star David Cross, last year.
