Marvel Netflix Series: New ‘Jessica Jones’ Teaser – Find Out What Kept ‘Daredevil’ From Becoming New Movie After Ben Affleck Fiasco [VIDEO]

The original "Daredevil" movie is known for two things: almost ruining adaptations of Matt Murdock and being the shoot where Ben Affleck and now estranged wife Jennifer Garner met - and it would have remained the same if it hadn't been for this year's Marvel Netflix series of the same name.

The first-ever Marvel Netflix series came out last spring, seeing British actor Charlie Cox take on the role of blind Hell's Kitchen superhero Matt Murdock to vast critical acclaim - but it was almost turned into a film instead, before the "Defenders" were set to hit the small screen.

According to Cinema Blend, the reason "Daredevil" ended up becoming the amazing Marvel Netflix series it is today had little to do with the 2003 flop and everything to do with the depth of the character of Matt Murdock, as the aesthetics needed for the show wouldn't have matched with the family-friendly tone of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

"Look, if we took the Netflix [show] and put it in theaters, it's rated R. And they're not doing R-rated movies," said Drew Goddard, the creator of the first Marvel Netflix series, in a recent interview to promote his latest screenplay project, "The Martian" starring Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain, according to Slash Film. "And we also got to really explore the character. I feel like Netflix was the best possible home for that, otherwise you'd end up with a watered down version."

Entertainment Weekly reports that this isn't the only Marvel Netflix series news right now, as the on-demand site is currently launching teasers for their next MCU show, "A.K.A. Jessica Jones" starring Krysten Ritter in the title role as a superhero turned private detective.

In the latest clip, the second one released in the past few days, Ritter can be seen trying to get a jukebox to work after a massive bar brawl as the character looks increasingly awesome.
