Following her exit from the hit television series "The Vampire Diaries", Nina Dobrev has finally revealed her answer to fans who have been longing for tElena Gilbert to come back to the series.
During her one-on-one interview with Entertainment Weekly, Nina Dobrev said "That chapter is closed, sadly - It's bitter sweet."
It has been hard for the fans to get over Nina Dobrev's farewell to the show after six seasons, but it seems like the actress is making it harder for TVD loyalists when she confirmed that she's not coming returning, even after several speculations that Dobrev might want to give it another shot.
Though Dobrev won't be part of the upcoming season of "The Vampire Diaries", the actress will still be in her full support for the show. In fact, she said that she "can't wait to see what the new season will look like," without Elena Gilbert.
"I'll be watching. I'm very excited for my friends." she said.
Nina Dobrev announced her exit from the show in April and she mentioned that she had always envisioned her "The Vampire Diaries" adventure as a six-year journey.
In the season 6 finale, Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert was in a coffin to sleep while her friends look for a cure. Elena Gilbert's body was linked to her witch best friend Bonnie Bennett and the only way for her to live is for Bonnie to die.
Since Elena is gone for real, everything in Mystic Falls including the characters will be a lot different. However, Elena's presence in the new season will remain, especially in Ian Somerhalder's character as Damon Salvatore.
"Bonnie's not very sympathetic to a lot anymore because she lost Elena," Kat Graham said in one of her interviews. "She's lost everyone but Caroline and her mom that she cared about, so she's going into this season in a different mentality."
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will air on October 8 at The CW.
