Earlier this year, the 36 year-old actress who was first noticed by the world when she starred as Inara Serra in Joss Whedon's "Firefly" and its sequel "Serenity," filed for divorce with husband Austin Chick after nearly four years of marriage - and now, days after it was first reported that she was dating Morena Baccarin's "Gotham" co-star, it's being reported she's also pregnant with Ben McKenzie's child.
Reps for the actress confirmed Morena Baccarin's "Gotham" pregnancy, as the actress, who has been discreetly dating McKenzie for a while now, is currently in the middle of a bitter battle over the custody of her son with Chick, 3 year-old Julius.
According to E! Online, Morena Baccarin's "Gotham" relationship was confirmed earlier this week, as well as her first pregnancy with McKenzie, only a couple of days after the Brazilian-American star was last seen publicly on the Emmy Awards, where she hid her baby bump in a bright-colored flowing chiffon dress.
As TMZ reports, though, there was one person out there who was nowhere near happy with Morena Baccarin's "Gotham" news, and that's her estranged husband, Chick, who claims (in legal docs recently obtained by the site) that her relationship with McKenzie started well before their marriage ended, saying there was one incident on August when Chick went home to retrieve some of his possessions and found McKenzie having just taken a shower and playing with son Julius.
Chick claims Morena Baccarin's "Gotham" relationship has led to his son Julius being raised in a confusing and unhealthy environment.
According to Entertainment Tonight Online, Chick didn't know of Baccarin's pregnancy until she wrote she was entering her second quarter on legal documents, as she claimed she was now in "a new committed relationship" and she was "planning to re-marry."
Chick's visitation rights had been set beforehand, but the recent events with McKenzie have led to this bitter new custody battle.
Hopefully, Morena Baccarin's "Gotham" drama will be resolved soon!
