For the past few years, Starbucks has been killing the fall menus with the most popular item of the season, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which has been often copied but never improved; now, one of its biggest competitors in the U.S. is bringing the heavy weights, as Dunkin Donuts' pumpkin macchiato becomes a strong contender!
Only a couple of weeks after Dunkin Donuts announced the better part of its fall menu line-up, they're making a couple of big new revelations, as Dunkin Donuts' pumpkins become the center of everything they'll be serving in the next few months, including their new item, macchiato.
According to The Daily Meal, the breakfast chain is officially adding a new espresso to their menu with the new Dunkin Donuts pumpkin macchiato, and it will be available both hot or iced, while other types of flavors (such as caramel and mocha) will also be available for the mix.
"Dunkin' Donuts' Pumpkin Macchiato is a handcrafted, layered espresso beverage made with steamed milk and pumpkin flavored swirl, then topped with a double shot of Dunkin' Donuts' rich, freshly-brewed espresso," described the company through a statement, according to Boston.com, surely prompting some big growth in visits for the breakfast company.
However, the Dunkin Donuts pumpkin addition isn't the only piece of exciting news coming in the biggest doughnut shop in the country, as there's another big announcement underway: an official delivery system!
Delish reports that Dunkin Donuts recently released a statement on their upcoming plans, and they're definitely including a delivery system through their app: starting in 2016, doughnut lovers can get their delicious breakfast items right on their doorstep, as the company's planning a huge renovation of their app to include this service.
A few weeks back, it had been rumored that the company was thinking of launching delivery in a test market - unfortunately, this year the Dunkin Donuts pumpkin macchiato won't be up for delivery, so maybe next fall!
