The Los Angeles Lakers seem to be having quite a dramatic week.
After center Dwight Howard announced his departure from the Lakers, the team has reportedly reached out to old friend and former teammate Lamar Odom.
According to ESPN, the Lakers have contacted Odom, but the reason for the contact remains unclear.
"Lakers have reached out to Lamar Odom, its been hard to determine how high interest level is on wither side thus far," Ramona Shelburne of ESPN tweeted.
Odom, 33, won two championships with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010, but his time with the team ended in 2011, after Odom was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. In 2012, Odom went to the Los Angles Clippers.
Howard announced on his Twitter account on Friday that he'd no longer be apart of the Lakers franchise.
"I've decided to become a member of the Huston Rockets. I feel it's the best place for me and I am excited about joining the Rockets and l'm looking forward to a great season," Howard tweeted. "I want to thank the fans in Los Angles wish them the best."
Team captain Kobe Bryant tired his best to keep Howard on the team, according to the ESPN. Bryant told Howard that he must be willing to learn how to be a champion first.
According to reports, Bryant would not mind having an old friend back on the team.
Odom, who won Sixth Man of the Year in 2011, averaged 14.4 points on 53 percent shooting and 8.7 rebounds in 32.2 minutes per game. Odom has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors though social media.
