The cats have declared war on zombies to save one tiny kitten!
In the short film 'Cats vs Zombies,' two little kitties decide to take on a group of zombies to rescue a kitten that is stuck on a roof. The brave cats quickly devise a plan using a lot of ammo and a boom box to bring the kitten to safety.
The video was uploaded on the Mr.TVCow Youtube channel, which is known for its shorts filled with vfx and cute animals. According to the channel, "Mr.TVCow can be interpreted as Mister Tivikoff."
'Cats vs Zombies' is actually a 'Z Nation' promotional video that celebrated the premiere of the show's second season on Syfy. 'Z Nation' Season Two aired on September 11, with the first episode 'The Murphy' where everyone is on the hunt for the escaped Patient Zero.
'Z Nation' is known for its tendency towards humor, so the 'Cats vs Zombies' promotional video was an ideal way to promote the second season. Show creator Karl Schaefer has previously told Dread Central that the series isn't trying to be the next 'Walking Dead.'
"First off, there is obviously a great zombie show in 'The Walking Dead' already on, so our mission is sort of to go where they don't, and I think the biggest difference between us and them is our series has a sense of hope and also a sense of humor," Schaefer said. "We're kind of trying to put the fun back into zombies."
So why is it so important to laugh at a zombie apocalypse?
"I think a sense of black humor is almost a survival skill, that if you didn't have a sense of humor in the apocalypse, you'd probably just curl up and die," Schaefer explained.
The third episode of 'Z Nation' Season Two will air on Syfy on September 25.
