Many girls dream of a Disney-like love story and Corinne Jones, apparently, didn't need a fairy for that.
That's what she thought when she proposed a "101 Dalmatians" themed engagement shoot with fiancé Tony Collier.
"I've always loved that Roger and Anita were not the typical fairy tale - they were believable characters who didn't just come together merely by wishing on a star and casting a magic spell," Jones told BuzzFeed. "Pongo had to take the first step."
Also a Disney lover, Collier didn't have second thoughts at all.
"Tony grew up doing musical theater and can be a total ham, so it didn't take much convincing to get him on board," she said. Their love story started in 2009 at a marching band formal in University of Illinois. The couple had their first vacation at Disneyworld and both even worked in Magic Kingdom after college.
For his proposal, Collier planned for a scavenger hunt in honor of Jones' love for Disney villains. "It ended with a picture of me as Cruella de Vil, my favorite character, and he as one of my henchmen Horace saying, he didn't want a princess, he wanted a villain," she explained.
With the help of Collier's photographer cousin, Melissa Biggerstaff, the couple was able to pull off Roger and Anita's meeting scene at Lake Katherine near his Illinois home. Their pets, Izzy and Mookie were there to play as Pongo and Perdita, too.
"Izzy and Mookie, although a bit older, pudgier, and sans spots, are the greatest family pets and we wanted to make them an indelible part of our memories," Jones added. They "did actually send me tumbling down a few times when the leashes were wrapped around us."
When she was asked if there's another Disney scene happening on their wedding, Jones said she hasn't thought about it yet.
"Honestly, we hadn't planned much beyond these photos," she said. "We might incorporate some Disney aspects into our shower, bachelor, and bachelorette party, but as for the wedding, we'll just have to wait and see. We've always been huge Disney fans and we don't see that changing anytime soon!"
