Emily Blunt Is Hesitant About Making Edge Of Tomorrow Sequel?

It has been common practice among Hollywood producers to do a sequel or franchise of films, especially when the original was a total success. However, the problem is the sequel or franchise does not always live up to the glory of the first one.

The moving force behind this is undeniably to make easy profit. It's easy to assume that if the original was well accepted, then surely the movie followers and fans will give the same amount of support to the follow up as well.

Tom Cruise, at the movie premiere of the "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation", teased that he has already pitched in some ideas for the sequel of "Edge of Tomorrow", which he starred in with actress Emily Blunt. The implication that a sequel is already under consideration, was somewhat confirmed when writer Christopher McQuarrie, followed  through Cruise's statement saying that 'he was intrigued by what Cruise was cooking.'

However, in the case of the actress Emily Blunt, she actually feels a lot of trepidation to do the sequel and this is what she had to say, while she was promoting her new American crime thriller film 'Sicario' at the Toronto International Film Festival,  "I would for sure! But the idea would have to be good; it would just have to be a great idea." "I don't want to dilute how great the first one is with a second one that's not as good. I'm terrified of sequels, to be honest with you."

It's nice to know, especially for those who are anticipating the follow up of this 2014 time bending sci-fi time thriller that indeed a sequel may be underway soon. But more comforting to the fans and moviegoers, is the thought that those behind "Edge of Tomorrow", namely the cast and the crew, are not only rushing to cash in with the surprisingly positive reception of the original . They actually care about the quality of the next one.
