'Wonder Woman' Movie Update: Is Gal Gadot's Diana Prince Going Back In Time? [SPOILERS]

It seems like the world screamed in excitement when it was previously announced that Wonder Woman will be one of the superheroes featured in the DC flick 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.' The anticipation grew even more when the good news was revealed: Diana Prince will star in her own standalone film.

It may still be a long time before Wonder Woman, who will be played by Gal Gadot in 'Batman v Superman' as well as the spinoff movie, will appear on the big screen. However, fans are already clamoring for more information about the 'Wonder Woman' standalone film, which will also star Chris Pine as Diana Prince's love interest Steve Trevor.

Although not much is known about the 'Wonder Woman' movie, there have been rumors that the film will be set during World War II. However, Heroic Hollywood's Umberto Gonzales has just reported that the story could involve more than just one timeline.

"The latest rumor I am hearing is the first half of Wonder Woman standalone film will actually take place during World War I," Gonzales wrote. "Again, World War I not II. The second half of the film takes place during modern day."

This may sound like a far-fetched concept, but Gonzales connects the new rumor with an older, more popular rumor.

"With Wonder Woman rumored to be at least 200 years old during the events of 'Batman v Superman,' it is within the realm of possibility that Diana was around during the first World War," he wrote.

Although the information is very interesting, Umberto Gonzales is quick to point out that the story is currently just a rumor at the moment.

The 'Wonder Woman' movie will be directed by Patty Jenkins while the screenplay will be written by Jason Fuchs. According to producer Deborah Snyder, the film will start principal photography by November and is set for release on June 23, 2017.
