After being victorious in the UFC Women's division, Award winning fighter Ronda Rousey will now turn to acting. The UFC champion has finally agreed to play the role of Patrick Swayze in the revival of the hit classic action movie 'Road House'.
The film which was famous during the 1980s will be remade starring the undefeated UFC champ. The original movie was starred by Patrick Swayze as a bouncer working for a bar to remove the corruption in the business. Lisa Niemi herself gave Rousey the blessing to play the role of her late husband.
The famous fighter felt honored to obtain the legendary role because she personally respects and loves Swayze. She expressed her delight on her official Twitter account.
Rousey had an experience working as a bartender in Southern California so she will not have a hard time relating to the story of the movie. Her fighting skills also maker her fit for the role.
Many were surprised to know that a woman will be playing the bouncer role of Swayze, her experience in fighting gave her an edge for the role.
The news about Rousey breaking out in Hollywood is no longer shocking since the fighter is open about her ambition to become popular in the showbiz industry. Last year's 16-second win of the champion contributed a lot to her present popularity. The said victory resulted to red carpet interviews and her viral feminist speech.
The American mixed martial artist was featured in several box buster films like the Entourage, The Expendables 3 and Furious 7. The UFC fighter will also be starring in the action film 'Mile 22'.
Rousey will start filming for the 'Road House' next year.
