Whoopi Goldberg ‘The View’ Greeting New Co-Hosts Totally Tasteless – Is Barbara Walters Looking To Fire Whoopi From ABC Talk Show? [VIDEO]

Earlier this week, the talk show co-created created by interviewing legend Barbara Walters began its 19th season with a set of fresh faces and a few old ones returning, including Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" comeback - but as her remarks become growingly controversial in the worst possible way, is Walters trying to fire the Oscar winner?

In the last season of the show, Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" comments became a subject of constant headlines, as the actress and comedienne spent months defending Bill Cosby as sexual allegations against him kept pouring out - and now, as she greets new co-hosts of the show in very poor taste, it's being said she might not be staying for much longer.

According to E! Online, on the very first episode of the new season, one of the first Whoopi Goldberg "The View" jokes saw the 59 year-old making a passive-aggressive joke about the current rotation in the talk show.

After saying that "cups would be nice" to Joy Behar, who's returning to the show after a hiatus that lasted a couple of seasons, Behar looked confused, Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" comment came to light.

"They're cups, but where are the pictures of the faces? We used to have faces because people stuck around," went Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" joke, Just Jared reports, with Behar then quipping about the stickers on the mugs. "Well, this is in case they want to get rid of any of us. They can just pull this off!"

Antics like this have reportedly kept the Oscar-winning actress on the verge of being fired, as she's supposedly taking too much control and the Cosby defense (which even prompted a monologue from John Oliver on his HBO show "Last Week Tonight") really got on ABC execs' nerves over all the bad publicity.

"Everyone is beginning to realize they should have let Rosie have control," a source told Radar Online about Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" work now, after Rosie O'Donnell reportedly leaving because of heavy issues with her co-host. "They want Whoopi to leave, but she won't. Whoopi is too smart and greedy to leave on her own."
