The sandbox independent video game Minecraft, is about to get even better - as its latest update, it can have up to five players to cooperate or compete with one another over a local network on PC, iOS, Android, or Windows Phone.
Included in the update of the Minecraft cross-platform local area play, is the Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta update that allows "five friends play together over Xbox Live."
In a Microsoft blog post, it stated, "The upcoming 0.12.1 update is, in a word, awesome," "For the first time ever, up to five friends can play cross-platform multiplayer on a local network between Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta."
The Minecraft's update comes along with a number of "highly requested catch-up features" for Minecraft: Pocket Edition, and the $6.99 mobile version of the game.
In a report, Minecraft's mobile version will have better touch controls, updated controller support, and an updated controller mapping screen. Plus the mobile apps will have the enhanced weather effects that already featured in the Windows 10 version, like the directional rain and snow accumulation.
Microsoft representatives stated, "In addition to plenty of new goodies to build and potions to brew, you'll now be able to encounter golems and ocelots, and even explore the Nether," the representative also said. "Finally, this update brings the ability to sneak and sprint in Pocket Edition."
However, in July, the Swedish video game developer 'Mojang' and the American multinational technology company 'Microsoft,' announced that Minecraft can be acquired for free in the Windows 10 version. But it is essential for the customers that they already purchased the Java-based version on the PC or Mac platforms.
And in installing the game, it is necessary that customers must log in to their Minecraft account, then hit the "redeem" button, and then sign into their Microsoft account.
