“Judge Joe Brown”: Daytime Television Show Gets The Gavel

After starting season 15 last September, the famous daytime courtroom television show "Judge Joe Brown" has officially been given the axe.

The gavel officially struck down on the show amid contract disputes between Judge Brown and CBS.

"Judge Joe Brown will not be returning for another season," a spokesperson for CBS Television Distribution said in a statement. "We would like to thank Joe for 15 great years, as well as executive producer John Terenzio and the entire staff for all their hard work and dedication to the show."

According to Yahoo! Finance, Brown "reportedly has been making $20 million a year, but the network was looking to trim his compensation in line with a decline in the show's ratings."

According to TV Guide, the show "had been splitting profits with Brown for the last seven years".

However, Judge Brown said it was time to start anew after the alleged dispute.

"It was time to move out on my own since I had some ideas that I had been having to pull teeth with no novocaine to get adopted," said Brown.

He also labeled the CBS Television Distribution department as "difficult to deal with" and "applied zero public relations and zero advertisement," to the show.

After debuting in 1998 with the second-highest ratings amongst court shows, Brown may be looking to simply switch networks.

According to TV Guide, "Brown has been meeting with other television distribution companies in recent weeks.."

Do you think "Judge Joe Brown" will be back on television or is he officially done?
