New 'Harry Potter' Goblet Of Fire Theory Could Change Slytherin History

The 'Harry Potter' book series may be over, but fans still can't stop discussing every minute detail in the book. Some have even gone as far as coming up with fan theories like the 'Dumbledore is Death' theory that has actually been acknowledged by author J.K. Rowling.

Tumblr user crazybutperfectlysane has just outlined a new theory from the series' fourth book 'Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.' The theory questions what would happen if Cedric Diggory does not become one of the champions in the Triwizard Tournament. Instead of a representative from Hufflepuff, one of the champions would come from the house of Slytherin.

The Tumblr post replaces Cedric Diggory with a mislooked Harry Potter character named Cassius Warrington, who is a Chaser for the Slytherin Quidditch team. The theory also implies that Voldemort would kill Cassius despite the fact that he is a pureblood, and how the Slytherins would finally find enough reason to rise up against the Dark Wizard.

It doesn't end there. Tumblr user aplatonicjacuzzi actually takes the theory further from just replacing Cedric Diggory with Cassius Warrington and pushing the story to a different direction with the way the series would have ended. The extension even illustrates how the Slytherin purebloods would interact at the Battle of Hogwarts.

The aftermath of the battle also changes the future for Slytherins.

An excerpt from the post reads as follows:

"Imagine a Cassius Warrington statue made in his honor, the first Slytherin to fight and die nobly with Harry Potter, the boy who lived, in the face of ultimate evil. He was a true Slytherin, and its in his name that Slytherin children and their families have cut all ties with the Death Eaters, denounced Voldemort, and are finally living in peace."

J.K. Rowling has yet to comment on the new 'Goblet of Fire' fan theory.
