It looks like 'Game of Thrones' fans will finally meet Samwell Tarly's family!
It was previously reported that Ian McShane has joined the cast of the hit HBO show and there are speculations that the 'Deadwood' star would portray Randyll Tarly, father of Jon Snow's best bud Sam. Although the rumors about Ian McShane's role in 'Game of Thrones' has yet to be confirmed, another family member is sure to make an appearance in Season Six.
The Hollywood Reporter has just announced that 'UnREAL' star Freddie Stroma has been chosen to play Sam's brother Dickon Tarly. It has not been confirmed how the younger Tarly will make an appearance in the show, but there are speculations that Sam might encounter Dickon on his way to the Citadel.
But who is Dickon Tarly, and how does his appearance in 'Game of Thrones' affect Sam?
In 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' Dickon Tarly is the second son of Randyll Tarly and younger brother of Samwell. However, since Sam has joined the Night's Watch, Dickon has been chosen to be the heir of Horn Hill. In 'A Feast for Crows,' he joins Renly Baratheon's army as the latter announces his claim to the throne. Dickon also appears in 'A Dance with Dragons,' where he has married Eleanor Mooton, the daughter of the Lord of Maidenpool.
Freddie Stroma is best known for playing the arrogant Gryffindor student Cormac McLaggen in 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' and 'The Deathly Hallows - Part 1 and 2.' He also played Lucy Hale's love interest in 'A Cinderella Story: Once upon a Song' and had a minor role in 'Pitch Perfect.'
It is still unclear if Freddie Stroma will return as Adam in 'UnREAL,' which has been renewed for a second season. 'Game of Thrones' Season Six will premiere of HBO in 2016.
