Chris Evans Admits Reluctance In Playing Captain America! Will He Stay With Marvel After 'Avengers: Infinity War?'

Marvel has gone a long way since the release of the first 'Iron Man' film, which singlehandedly re-launched the career of Robert Downey Jr. and made way for several successful superhero movies including 'Thor' and 'Avengers.'

One of these Marvel flicks that became a box-office hit was 'Captain America: The First Avengers,' so it is hard to imagine that star Chris Evans was initially unsure about taking on the role.

Chris Evans recently spoke to Collider, where he admitted that he was apprehensive about playing Steve Rogers.

"It's so mind-boggling that I was so tentative in the beginning to jump onboard," Evans said. "What an a--hole I would be if I hadn't done this. I mean can you imagine? Kicking myself-I'd never forgive myself!"

All that has changed now, and Chris Evans is eager to stay with Marvel for as long as possible.

"Listen, if Marvel wants me they got me," he said. "I've never had such a relationship where you have such-I mean look at my resume, I'm used to being on set being like, 'Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?' Marvel just can't stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It's wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it's like a playground as an actor."

For now, Chris Evans has a contract with Marvel that covers Captain America's appearance in the two parts of 'Avengers: Infinity War,' which will also star Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. Chris Hemsworth will return as Thor and Josh Brolin has also confirmed that he will have a larger appearance as the villain Thanos, who initially appeared in 'Guardians of the Galaxy.'

'Captain America: Civil War' will finally premiere on May 6, 2016. 'Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1' is scheduled for release on May 4, 2018 and followed by 'Infinity War - Part 2' on May 3, 2019.
