Could Tom Hardy go from playing the crazy Max Rockatansky in 'Mad Max: Fury' to being the embodiment of cool and suave as 007 in the future Bond films?
The 'Legend' star has finally responded to all those talks about him possibly portraying the iconic spy when Daniel Craig finally retires from making Bond films. In an interview with MTV, Tom Hardy admitted that he is a fan of James Bond movies.
"Of course I am, yeah," Hardy said. "Totally, absolutely."
However, no one can expect Tom Hardy to remain completely serious when he was asked who he would pick to be the next James Bond.
"Louie Spence," Hardy said without hesitation.
Louie Spence is the flamboyant dance choreographer who stars in the British reality show Pineapple Dance Studios. Tom Hardy's choice for the next 007 proves that he doesn't want to be pulled in to do some Bond fancasting.
The actor was also unimpressed when he was told that he is now the bookie's favorite to play James Bond, as he is currently at the 6-1 odds to portray the famous spy.
"Bookie's favorite?" Hardy asked disbelievingly. "This has to do with gamblers, isn't it? I don't think it's got anything to do with any genuine entertainment business."
Tom Hardy currently has the same odds of playing James Bond as Idris Elba, who has been considered "too street" to play the spy by the new Bond writer Anthony Horowitz.
Idris Elba fans were clearly infuriated by the comment and in turn started attacking Daniel Craig on social media.
Meanwhile, Daniel Craig recently offered some insight on what it's like to be James Bond, and it isn't very pleasant.
"He's very f--king lonely," Craig said. "There's a great sadness. He's f--king these beautiful women but then they leave and it's... sad."
Perhaps it will not be as sad if a goofball like Tom Hardy would play James Bond.
