‘Penny Dreadful’ Cast Adds Mr. Jekyll, Patti LuPone Becomes Regular In Eva Green Josh Harnett Series – Dead Character Returns To Life?

Boasting talents such as Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, Josh Harnett and Billie Piper, there's no doubt that the "Penny Dreadful" cast is one of the most powerful ones on television, and now, as the horror-themed show begins casting for its third season, more characters arrive to this 19th century literary London.

Since the series' release in 2014, the "Penny Dreadful" cast has had a very impressive stint, with Green and Harnett being particularly enlightening in their roles of Vanessa Ives and Ethan Chandler; last season, Broadway legend Patti LuPone co-starred in a few episodes as a witch, and although her character was killed, it has been announced that she has officially joined the cast of the third season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, as she rejoins the "Penny Dreadful" cast, LuPone won't be taking the same role of the witch Cut-Wife, but rather she'll become a series regular by playing the role of Dr. Seward, an American therapist who treats Ms. Ives, taking "an unconventional new approach."

AV Club reports that LuPone's character might be based on Dr. Jack Seward, the man who ran the insane asylum in the original Bram Stoker novel of "Dracula," which might also wink at a possible reappearance of vampires in the show, after they were the main antagonists of the first season following Dracula's hijacking of Mina (Olivia Llewellyn).

According to TV Line, other new additions to the "Penny Dreadful" cast will include Dr. Henry Jekyll (Shazad Latif), in the only obvious new literary reference of the season; others joining in will be Sam Barnett, Wes Studi, Jessica Barden and Christian Camargo.

Things are bound to get even eerier with the new additions to the "Penny Dreadful" cast, as the past season ended with Lily (Billie Piper) and Dorian Grey (Reeve Carney) spoke of their plan towards world dominance and Ethan was shipped to the U.S. to be trialed.

Unfortunately, it won't be until 2016 that audiences will get to see the new "Penny Dreadful" cast members in action!
