New 'Kung Fu Panda 3' Teaser Shows Jack Black's Po And Dad Bryan Cranston Channeling Darth Vader [VIDEO]

The release date of the highly anticipated DreamWorks sequel 'Kung Fu Panda 3' may have been shuffled around too much. Although it was originally set for release in March 2016, the animated film was moved forward to December 2015 and then immediately pushed back to January 2016 to avoid any conflicts with 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.' Now it looks like Po and the gang are poking some fun at the 'Star Wars' franchise.

The new teaser trailer for 'Kung Fu Panda 3' is only 35 seconds long, but it packs a lot of references at Darth Vader It has even been given the title 'A Father Rises' and starts off with labored, heavy breathing which turns out to be coming from Li (Bryan Cranston), Po's biological father. Po's adoptive father Mr. Ping (James Hong) even asks the question every 'Star Wars' viewer asked when Darth Vader first appeared in 'A New Hope': "Who is this guy? And why is he breathing like that? It's creepy."

The synopsis for the film reads as follows:

"When Po's long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai [J.K. Simmons] begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible-learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!"

'Kung Fu Panda 3' also marks the return of the Furious Five, which are Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jacky Chan), Viper (Lucy Lui), Crane (David Cross) and Mantis (Seth Rogen). Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) and Oogway (Randall Duk Kim) are back to support the Dragon Warrior as well.

Po and the gang will crash into theaters one more time on January 29, 2016.
