Jeremy Renner Talks About 'Avengers/Guardians Of The Galaxy' Crossover! Is Hawkeye On Steve Rogers' Side In 'Captain America: Civil War?'

Jeremy Renner continues to show off his wit and sense of humor at the Wizard World Comic-Con in Chicago!

The 'Captain America: Civil War' star recently attended Wizard World, where he addressed several Marvel topics, including a possible crossover for 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and 'Avengers.'

Several fans have previously pointed out that a crossover between the two movies would make perfect sense, since Thanos (Josh Brolin) is set to be the next big bad in 'Avengers: Infinity War.' The villain was first introduced in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' before making a post-credits appearance in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron.'

So when will the 'Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy' crossover happen?

According to GeekTyrant, Jeremy Renner's response was positive, but it wasn't very hopeful. "You'll be eighty years old by then, and I won't be Hawkeye anymore. I'll be Dead Guy," he joked.

The fans also took the chance to ask Jeremy Renner about his alliances in the upcoming sequel 'Captain America: Civil War,' where Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) are set to take either side of the Avengers feud.

One fan sneakily asked how Renner felt about being a part of Captain America's team, and the actor's answer was a logical one.

"I don't know," Renner said. "They wrote me in that side. It made sense to me."

Just when fans collectively breathed a sigh of relief, Renner jokingly added, "Maybe I switched sides!"

It was previously reported that Captain America's team would include Hawkeye, the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). One surprising absence was that of Steve Rogers' longtime ally Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), who is said to have sided with Iron Man.

However, some fans theorize that Black Widow will work as a double agent to get intel from Tony Stark's team to help Captain America.

Could Hawkeye be the double agent in 'Captain America: Civil War?' Find out when the film hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
