'Kong: Skull Island' News: 'Jurassic World' Writer Will Work On Screenplay! Which Actors Are Joining Tom Hiddleston And Brie Larson?

'Kong: Skull Island' is finally getting more people to join the highly-anticipated project!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'Kong: Skull Island' has just gained a screenwriter in Derek Connolly. The young writer, who recently worked on the screenplay for 'Jurassic World' with director Colin Trevorrow, will be working overtime on the script since the movie is getting ready to start filming by October.

Derek Connolly has previously worked on the TV movie 'Gary: Under Crisis.' He wrote the script for Colin Trevorrow's 2012 romantic comedy 'Safety Not Guaranteed,' and the two collaborated on 'Jurassic World' before working on the screenplay for the yet untitled sequel. Connolly also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming Rob Lowe film 'Monster Trucks.'

'Kong: Skull Island' may have lost two of its big stars when Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons decided to bow out of the project, but the film managed to hold on to the male lead Tom Hiddleston. It was recently reported that Brie Larson has come onboard as the movie's female lead, and 'Straight Outta Compton' star Corey Hawkins has signed on as well.

Who else will be joining 'Kong: Skull Island?' According to Geek Tyrant, Samuel L. Jackson is currently in negotiations to replace either J.K. Simmons or Michael Keaton. John C. Reilly and Tom Wilkinson are also being considered for the roles.

Tom Hiddleston has previously confirmed that he is excited about working on the King Kong prequel. The actor admitted that he wanted to work on 'Kong: Skull Island' because he looked up to the director.
