The Ukrainian-born American professional ballroom dancer of Greek-Russian descent and she is best known to the general public as a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars Karina Smirnoff, the 37-year-old professional ballroom dancer is back on Dancing With the Stars for the ABC reality hit's upcoming 21st season. Karina Smirnoff on February 2015, announced that she was leaving the series after 16 seasons.
Karina Smirnoff took Dancing With the Stars season 20 off to promote her book, We're Just Not That Into You: Dating Disasters from the Trenches, and Smirnoff starred in the indie film Tango Shalom opposite Lainie Kazan.
Even the Dancing With the Stars season 21 casting is still underway, it is confirmed that the season 20 champ Val Chmerkovskiy (who won with Rumer Willis) and Witney Carson (who last danced with Chris Soules) will return this season. However, the rest of the professional dancers for the 21st season are expected to be revealed this week.
Karina Smirnoff stated, "I was a little nervous about not dancing on the show at all last season. I was doing it for the last 10 years," Smirnoff also said, "I had other things to do in my life, but not going back to the show felt like trying to see if I can walk on my own two feet! I've had obvious moments when I missed it."
In the new season, the pros don't have any idea with whom they'll be partnered. Though in the American television show Good Morning America is expected to reveal the stars during the first week of September, however, Karina Smirnoff said that the professional dancers sometimes only find out their partner on the first day of rehearsal.
As Dancing with the Stars Season 21 will return at ABC on September 14, 2015 Karina Smirnoff said, "I'm excited and a little nervous," Smirnoff also said, "Normally I can at least narrow it down a little bit, like whether it will be an athlete or an actor, but I have no idea."
