Millenials and generations today seem to be putting everything on social media - including bullying videos and street fights -- but that's not always a good thing.
While the reason for this phenomenon is unknown, it might just be as simple as wanting to go viral and seek some attention.
This video, which was viewed over 6 million times on Facebook and uploaded just on Monday, features a 15-year-old girl bullying and beating up another girl, aged 13, in Cowdenbeath, Fife in Scotland.
The 15-year-old doesn't even show the slightest bit of mercy - kicking the 13-year-old in the fact, dragging her across the street by pulling on her hair, and punching her in the face.
The Daily Mail UK reports that during the attack, the 15-year-old said that the beating was revenge, because the victim's father made an anonymous allegation to the police about the bully's father.
In fact, the three and a half minute video was so horrific that the police decided to get involved. They tracked down the bully, whom they arrested and charged with assault.
Amid the overwhelming criticisms on Facebook, the Fife Police stated:
"Thank you to those concerned members of the public who have contacted us today regarding a video of an assault in Cowdenbeath, which is currently on social media. We are actively investigating the matter."
The Scotland Police have also issued statements on their Twitter account (via two separate tweets), stating:
"Officers have charged a 15 year old girl in connection with an assault in the Cowdenbeath area. The incident was reported to police on Sunday, August 16. A report will be submitted to the Children's Reporter."
It is still unknown if the victim is okay
