A prototype video game console currently seeking crowdfunding on Chinese site z.jd.com has drawn the ire of the video game community due to its blatant copying of Sony's Playstation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One.
Dubbed the Ouye, the machine is a near identical match to the PS4. It shares the same slanted design with two slabs seemingly sitting atop each other. It tweaks the design a little by incorporating the Xbox One's diagonal grill detailing onto one half of the machine.
The Ouye's gamepad is a dead ringer for the Xbox One's sharing the same shape and joystick layout. The Ouye's does feature more buttons however.
Even the machine's name is a rip off, obviously mirroring that of another crowdfunded console, the now Razer owned 'Ouya' Andorid micro console.
Like the Ouya, the Ouye is being targeted as an affordable Android powered gaming device. Don't expect to be playing Halo 5: Guardians or Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on this thing.
The Ouye's developers want 100,000 Yuan (approx. $15,600) to get the device off the ground. While it is expected to retail for around 439 Yuan.
