Morgan Freeman's granddaughter, E'Dena Hines, was killed in Manhattan, New York on Sunday. Now, a friend of the 33-year-old actress comes forward and names her alleged murderer.
According to the NYPD, E'Dena Hines' boyfriend, Lamar Davenport, is being charged with Morgan Freeman's granddaughter's murder after stabbing Hines multiple times until she died.
Lamar Davenport was arrested before being moved to the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation, according to authorities. Davenport was charged on Monday for second-degree murder.
A friend of E'Dena Hines, Ray Rosario, identified Lamar Davenport on Sunday - his best friend - as Hines' alleged killer. Rosario told The Daily Beast that he had dinner with the couple and other friends the same night of the murder.
Rosario says, "I'm still trying to come to grips with what happened. I'm caught between the hate I have for him, my love for him being my brother, and my heart breaking for her."
Ray Rosario further added that both Lamar Davenport and E'Dena Hines looked "ecstatic" during their time together before the crime. "I've never seen E'Dena as happy as she was last night," Rosario said.
In addition, Ray says that another acquaintance was also able to witness the murder. "I heard [it] went to the point she was screaming Lamar's name and getting stabbed in front of her house. He was there. Right in front of his eyes," Rosario recalled.
George Hudacko -- who claims he witnessed the attack and called the police -- said that the suspect kept repeating, "Get out devils! I cast you out devils in the name of Jesus Christ! I cast you out!"
E'Dena Hines was found on the street, outside her West 162nd Street Apartment in Washington Heights. The actress was seen with multiple stab wounds on her torso, before being relocated to Harlem Hospital "where she was pronounced dead."
