The 'Diamond' diva, Rihanna will be joining the ninth season of the popular reality singing competition 'The Voice' where she will be one of the coach advisor, according to reports.
The chart-topping star, who just revealed her newest tattoo earlier this week, has confirmed to be part of the show to hand some support to the coaches and to 'The Voice' contenders as well.
Robert Greenblatt, the NBC president, released his statement during the TCA Press Tour held in Beverly Hills, on Thursday, August 13, where he talked about Rihanna's role in the show.
"We landed Rihanna to be the key advisor to all the coaches this fall.", he said. "This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers."
Reports say that the 'Stay' singer will be working as a mentor to all the contenders during the knockout rounds coming from the different teams led by 'The Voice' coaches, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani.
An insider said, "The producers feel the best chance they have is with Rihanna and they would love that because they haven't had a black female judge yet."
The source went on saying, "The audience she would bring would be amazing and they know she would be incredible."
Prior to the new batch of 'The Voice' advisors, other big-named stars such as Taylor Swift, Nate Ruess and Chris Martin had all been the show advisors for the last three seasons of the singing competition.
Following Rihanna's entry to 'The Voice' season 9, Brad Praisley who will be an advisor for Blake Shelton's team and John Fogertu for Adam Levine's set of contenders have been announced earlier in August.
'The Voice' Season 9 hosted by Carson Daly will be back on screens in September 21, Monday.
