Is Will Smith the Producer of Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Reboot?

The American actor, producer, rapper, songwriter Will Smith, has enjoyed success in television, film, and music that on April 2007, Newsweek called Will Smith "the most powerful actor in Hollywood." Will Smith through his Overbrook Entertainment company, is reportedly in ''the very early stages'' of developing a present-day version of the show  The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Sources said that Smith's Overbrook Entertainment company is currently finalizing a pitch for the show Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the show will be given a new spin on the fish-out-of-water saga, however, it will be ''maintaining the spirit'' of the original series. And the project will kick off  around in the coming weeks.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is an American television sitcom, which originally aired from September 10, 1990 to May 20, 1996 on NBC. Will Smith stars the television sitcom as a fictionalized version of himself, a street-smart teenager from West Philadelphia, and after getting into a fight on a local basketball court, Smith is sent to move in with his wealthy aunt and uncle in their Bel Air mansion.

Will Smith will serve as the executive producer on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air show, alongside his Overbrook producing partners James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. Even Will Smith will produce the new series, the actor isn't expected to appear in front of the camera.

Many members of the principal cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air were potentially willing to come back, a new version of the show could not take a more reverent approach.

And on Thursday, at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, Robert Greenblatt ,NBC Entertainment Chairman, said that in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air project, NBC network was not involved, however, Robert Greenblatt also said that he would "be happy to talk to Will [Smith] about it."
