One month after their Independence Day surprise wedding this summer, Billy Joel's wife Alexis Roderick has made the "Piano Man" himself the happiest man on Earth, as the pair welcome their first child together, a daughter by the name of Della Rose.
At 66, this is the second time the "Honesty" singer has become a dad, after 29 year-old daughter singer-songwriter Alexa Ray with second wife Christie Brinkleyelto; now, barely one month after Roderick became Billy Joel's wife, the couple's happy to announce the birth of the newest member of their family!
According to People Magazine, Billy Joel's wife gave birth to Della Rose last Wednesday August 12 in New York City at 2:40 in the morning, and the news comes four months after it was confirmed that the couple was expecting their first child together.
Prior to becoming Billy Joel's wife earlier this summer, Roderick had been with the legendary singer-songwriter since 2009, and they exchanged vows during a surprise ceremony on Independence Day weekend this year, when guests thought they were attending a 4th of July party at Joel's Long Island home.
At the time, daughter Alexa posted an adorable snap of the bride and groom after they were married by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, according to USA Today.
"After six years of quiet yet unrelenting devotion / A surprise wedding sets their undivided promise in motion / I've never seen Pop more besotted yet contented / Nor his Darling, more luminously glowing / And, sufficed to say / On this glimmering gold-coast day / Many a tear on my hopelessly-romantic cheek was flowing," wrote Alexa.
It was a big moment for the singer, as he didn't only make Roderick Billy Joel's wife, but he also broke Elton John's record for the most solo performances at New York's iconic venue Madison Square Garden, an event that even saw him making a homage to his fellow singer-songwriter.
