After creator David Lynch announced he was out of the "Twin Peaks" 2015 project, many fans of the original series frowned upon the Showtime revival, as it seemed pointless to bring it back without the man who helmed it from the very beginning way back in the early 1990s - but now it's been confirmed he's definitely on board!

After months of tough negotiations, it appears like Lynch will be a part of the "Twin Peaks" 2015 revival, after Showtime had said on numerous occasions they were still hoping to get the Oscar nominee back on board for the eerie show's revival - and the strategy obviously worked!

According to The Guardian, Showtime dished a bit further about the "Twin Peaks" 2015 revival last Tuesday, as they were having their Television Critics Association session in L.A. - and the cable network's president David Nevins was more than happy to say that Lynch was back in the project once more, and they'd begin shooting the series in September.

"I never had any doubts we were going to get him back. This was a huge priority project to me," Nevins said about the "Twin Peaks" 2015 revival, GameSpot reports. "It became clear that it was going to take more than nine episodes, which was the originally planned for and budgeted length of the series. I really wanted to get David to direct the whole thing, and he wanted to direct the whole thing. We had to work out the details."

TV.com reports that it's still unclear how many episodes the "Twin Peaks" 2015 revival will have, as producers are letting Lynch and crew decide - but the whole thing is being filmed from one script like a very long movie, and it's expected to go for more than nine episodes.

There's still no word on when the "Twin Peaks" 2015 revival will air, though it's believed it will be between 2016 and 2017.
