Director Chris Miller Talks About Hot Projects 'Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo' And 'Spider-Man' Standalone Film

It seems like the world stopped and paid attention when it was announced that one of the standalone films in 'Star Wars Anthology' would be a Han Solo origin story. However, there were no people more excited about the Han Solo film that directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, who have been signed to co-helm the movie.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller recently spoke to IGN about the Star Wars Anthology Han Solo film as well as the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, which the directors will work on as well. Miller, being the more talkative member of the team, admitted that they are taking extra precautions to treat the Han Solo movie properly.

"It's a huge pressure," Miller said. "We always try and find something that's gonna make us... give a fire to our bellies and do a really good job. And this feels like there's a lot of pressure to not screw this up."

Chris Miller also admitted that Han Solo is one of the best characters to depict on film.

"I could talk to you for a day about why he is the perfect blend of rogue-ish cowboy," he said. "Morally ambiguous, but has a clear moral compass. He's funny, he's off the cuff... When I was a kid on the playground, fights were about who got to play Han Solo. He's just one of the best characters ever created."

The 'Spider-Man' co-director was also asked about the upcoming reboot and what he could share about the film.

"I can't really talk too much about that project," Miller said. "Much like the Han Solo, it is shrouded in secrecy, so I can't really talk about it. But I will say, it is not just another Peter Parker origin story that you've seen 400 times. It is something totally unique and different and not like anything you've seen. That's all I can say... and you're going to love it!"

'Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo' is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018 while the still untitled 'Spider-Man' reboot is expected to hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
