Star player from the Blackhawks, Patrick Kane is facing an investigation, concerning a rape incident that occurred over the last weekend.
The Chicago Blackhawks star has been accused by a local woman of a sexual assault, the sources told The Buffalo News. The alleged rape victim went to a hospital and was tested.
Hamburg police is investigating the 26 year old player.
The National Hockey League Frank Brown, group vice president of communications, said on Thursday, "We are aware of the police investigation and are following developments."
As for the star player's teammate, Blackhawk released the same response.

The sources also revealed that officials from Hamburg have forbidden their officers from discussing to the public the ongoing investigation.
Hamburg Police Chief Gregory G. Wickett said, "We can neither confirm nor deny the existence or nonexistence of a criminal investigation until such a time as a person is charged with a crime."
Paul J. Cambria Jr., a defense lawyer who represented Kane in 2009, involving an altercation with a cab driver from Buffalo, refused to comment on Thursday, when contacted by the Buffalo News.
Kane is due to bring the Stanley Cup to Buffalo this weekend for the Blackhawk's victory party.
According to WKBW the alleged incident between the player and the alleged victim started at the bar in Evens.
The media outlet further added that "detectives were seen at Kane's home on Sunday."
The Chicago Tribune reports that Kane could not be reached for comments but according to his attorney, "no arrest has been made" in the accusation.
