Emma Watson Net Worth: What Did The 'Harry Potter' Star Do To Recover From Split With Ex Matt Janney?

Opening up in an interview with Vogue Magazine, Emma Watson admitted that her split from Matt Janney was so 'horrendous' that she had to take some time to feel 'at home with herself' again.

The 25-year-old revealed how she travelled to a silent retreat in Canada's Rocky Mountains to help come to terms with the breakdown of the relationship.

Considering Emma was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People this year, it’s safe to say she’s a strong, smart girl. So when she went through a tough breakup with Matt in December 2014, she handled it in the most mature way possible.

“I felt really uncomfortable, even before my relationship ended,” she told Vogue UK. “I went on a silent retreat, because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself.”

Eight months later, she’s anything but silent, from being an equal rights activist to Belle in Disney’s live-action 'Beauty and The Beast,' Emma Watson is absolutely rocking her career.

She started out as Hermione Granger in J.K. Rowling's 'Harry Potter' series, and now she has an estimated net worth of $60 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Emma Watson and Oxford rugby star Matthew split at the end of 2014 after a year of dating. A spokesperson confirmed the break-up was down to the actress' "unrelenting work schedule", adding that things remained "amicable" between the pair.

Prior to that, Emma was in a long-term romance with fellow Oxford student Will Adamowicz – they dated from 2011 until early 2014.

Despite being single, the star doesn't feel that her fame and status has been damaging to any of her relationships, even though it can 'undermine them' at times.

“I just think it’s very patronizing towards men. It undermines them,” she said. “The boyfriend or partners I’ve had have generally made me feel really cherished. They’ve built me up.” She continued.

“I certainly haven’t found that with doing all that I do or being all that I am, that I’ve struggled in my love life.”
