It's been three years since Brazilian model Camila Alves married one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood, and in the couple's multiple red carpet appearances it has become clear just how much love Matthew McConaughey's wife has for her actor husband - and now they both share a nationality!
Matthew McConaughey's wife has been living in the United States for a good portion of her life, pursuing her modeling career as well as meeting the man who would be her husband and the father of her three children, and now she's made things official with her adoptive country by becoming an American citizen.
According to Yahoo! Celebrity, the family went all out in their celebration of Matthew McConaughey's wife's new citizenship, as the actor and the couple's children (7 year-old son Levi, 5 year-old daughter Viola and 3 year-old Livingston) went to the courthouse to watch the Brazilian-born model and fashion designer become American.
Just Jared reports that to celebrate the milestone achieved by Matthew McConaughey's wife, the actor took to Twitter to post a family photo of the celebrations, as the five of them looked radiant rooting for Camila.
Alves herself went to the social network to share her love for her new country.
According to The Daily Mail, Matthew McConaughey's wife didn't have it easy when she first reached the United States at 19 years of age, as she has told the press she worked as a maid to pay for her expenses, which at the time included an English instructor as the Belo Horizonte native barely spoke the language at the time she reached the U.S.
These days, besides being the wife of one of the top actors in Hollywood, Alves has turned to fashion designing by creating her own brand of handbags with her mother, with the name MUXO, inspired by her Brazilian roots with a New York City vibe.
Congratulations to Matthew McConaughey's wife Camila on this great achievement!
