When it was announced that there would be yet another DC spinoff series featuring characters from 'Arrow' and 'CW's The Flash,' fans immediately took notice. Excitement rose when 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' cast Ciara Renee as Kendra Saunders, also known as Hawkgirl.
It looks like Hawkgirl's soulmate will also make an appearance in 'Legends of Tomorrow.'
CW has just announced that Falk Hentschel will portray Carter Hall in the show. The character is the latest incarnation of the ancient Egyptian Prince Khufu who used "Nth metal" to create wings and turn himself into Hawkman.
Carter Hall is an obvious character to add into the DC Cinematic Universe, since he appears as a charter member and eventual permanent chairman of the Justice Society of America in the Golden Age era comic books.
Falk Hentschel has previously appeared in TV shows like 'Arrested Development,' 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,' 'NCIS: Los Angeles' and 'The Closer.' He had a small but memorable role as an assassin in the Tom Cruise film 'Knight and Day' and starred as the Hydra mercenary Whiplash in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' had already made an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con, where executive producer Andrew Kreisberg couldn't stop gushing about it.
"'Legends of Tomorrow,' all it is is the crazy ideas," Kreisberg said at the panel. "It's bonkers."
He also confirmed that viewers should expect a totally different TV series.
"It was important for us not to do the same show," Kreisberg said. "We really wanted to do something different."
'Legends of Tomorrow' will star Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein/Firestorm, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary and Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter. The show will also feature former 'Prison Break' stars Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller as Mick Rory/Heat Wave and Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, respectively.
