Beverly Hills 90210 Movie: Lifetime Casts Aaron Spelling Show Unauthorized Film, ‘Melrose Place’ Too [PHOTOS]

The wave of unauthorized Lifetime Channel movies about beloved 90s shows continues after the ill-fated made-for-television film about "Saved by the Bell," and now it's the turn for two of the most successful Aaron Spelling shows of all time, with "Melrose Place" and "Beverly Hills 90210" movies underway.

After weeks of speculation, Lifetime has officially released casting information and photos of the actors who will be a part of the "Melrose Place" and "Beverly Hills 90210" movies, and the general consensus seems to be the same: is this new trend, which also includes a "Full House" unauthorized movie, really necessary?

According to Us Weekly, the "Beverly Hills 90210" movie will premiere on Lifetime on October 3, and it will deal with the drama behind the scenes of the first four seasons of the show, while Shannen Doherty was still part of the cast.

Speaking of which, it will be Samantha Munro playing Doherty on the "Beverly Hills 90210" movie, and she will be joined by Max Lloyd-Jones as Jason Priestley, Jesy McKinney as Luke Perry, Abbie Cobb as Jennie Garth, David Lennon as Ian Ziering, Abby Ross as Tori Spelling, Michele Goyns as Gabrielle Carteris and Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani Thiessen.

Pop Sugar reports that, exactly one week after the "Beverly Hills 90210" movie premieres, on October 10, the network will be showing the "Melrose Place" behind-the-scenes movie as well.

The "Melrose Place" movie will see Chloe McClay playing Josie Bissett, Frank Bailey as Andrew Shue, Ciara Hanna as Heather Locklear, Ryan Bruce as Grant Show, Joseph Coleman as Doug Savant, Ali Cobrin as Daphne Zuniga, Brandon Barash as Thomas Calabro, Teagan Vincze as Marcia Cross, Rebecca Dalton as Courtney Thorne-Smith, Lanie McAuley as Amy Locane, Chelsea Hobbs as Laura Leighton and Karissa Tynes as Vanessa A. Williams.

According to Cinema Blend, both the "Melrose Place" and "Beverly Hills 90210" movies will follow the "Full House" story, which will be premiering on August 22, as the actual show's reboot is being filmed.
