Lexus Develops 'Heartbeat Car'

Lexus has revealed a new design of the RC F coupe car model which features the driver's heartbeat on the car's exterior with electro-luminescent paint. The high-end vehicle named the 'Heartbeat Car' depicts the physical and emotional connection of the car and its owner.

The car makes use of the world's best biometric technology to make the 'heartbeat effect' on the outside of the car possible. The process is done by transmitting the heartbeat of the driver to a personalized electrical system with the aid of the heart rate monitor.

The system that is attached inside the car is the one responsible for processing the data. Afterwards, an electric charge is sent to the car's electroluminescent paint. As a result, the paint glows as the charge runs through it thus revealing the driver's heartbeat by means of real-time animation. The paint glows slowly then suddenly speeds up in coordination to the individual's heart rate.

When the monitor is off, the standard silver polish of the car the one visible to the viewers. There will be no hint of glowing capabilities. The design is meticulously made to glimmer only when electric signals are sent through it.

Lexus spent six months in creating the 'Heartbeat Car' in Australia. The company work with the creative tech firm M&C Saatchi to develop the high-end model. Ben Cooper, the innovation director of the firm states, "We're changing the conversation from top speeds, to talking about what the car does to you emotionally.

In a tweet, the car maker included a photo revealing the attractive design of the car.

Besides the creative design of the upcoming car, the company has not revealed any details regarding its performance and engine. Lexus has provided a trailer video giving viewers a sneak peek of the new model.

The 'Heartbeat Car' will be available to Lexus fans and car enthusiasts on the 24th of July.
