For years, rumors have swirled that Blake Shelton‘s bad behavior was putting a strain on his marriage to Miranda Lambert. But was it her infidelity that ultimately caused their divorce?
Surprisingly, it was Miranda who was unfaithful, and her infidelity wasn’t just a one-time thing, according to a new report.
Blake reportedly began to get suspicious after hearing rumors that his wife had cheated on him with fellow country star, Chris Young.
As Radar reported, Young was spotted getting cozy with Lambert back in February at Losers Bar in Nashville, fueling speculation that the two were hooking up.
Chris Young spoke out Tuesday to set the record straight, he released a statement on Twitter regarding Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's recent divorce.
“I don’t normally address gossip but in this case I will,” Young, 30, wrote. “My name has been mentioned as a contributing factor in Blake and Miranda’s divorce.”
“That is totally FALSE,” he insisted. “They are both my friends and I would not betray that friendship.”
Although the two were very friendly with each other and has toured with in the past, their alleged affair wasn’t what caused the split. Rather, it was another incident with a non-country singer that finally had Blake file divorce papers, TMZ claims.
Blake and Miranda announced their heartbreaking decision on July 20, with no explanation of what went wrong.
“This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy heart that we move forward separately,” they said in a statement. “We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
After announcing their split, Blake broke his silence after reports claim that he filed for divorce after learning his wife allegedly cheated on him twice. Blake used an interesting choice of words in his new tweet.
