Police discovered a 21-year-old’s dead body in Demi Moore’s swimming pool on July 19. A party was thrown at Demi’s house while she wasn’t home, and the young man apparently drowned in the pool.
The victim was later identified as Edenilson Steven Valle, who couldn't swim, and is believed to have accidentally drowned and died at the 52-year-old actress' residence at around 5:30am on Sunday morning.
"Demi Moore was not at the home at the time, and neither were her close family members," Officer Matthew Jones said. "There was in fact a party going on at the time. Who threw the party, we do not know at this time."
Her three daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah were thought to be away from the premises, and are apparently in New York this weekend celebrating Scout's 24th birthday on Monday.
Five people were at the home at the time of the drowning, including one person who is an assistant to Demi, Sergeant A. Bone of the West Los Angeles station told NBC Southern California.
Police said Demi's assistant was in charge of the gathering. However, a neighbor told TMZ that Demi's kids have been partying at the house day and night for weeks.
Tallulah has shared several photos on her Instagram of late-night pool parties, including one that was captioned "this picture doesn't do justice to the glory that was our pool party last night."
Police were called shortly before 5:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. ET) on July 19 of a possible drowning victim. Paramedics attempted to revive the young man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the man’s death. No foul play is suspected according to the law enforcement.
Story is still developing and the investigation is still ongoing.
