Neill Blomkamp ‘Alien’ Concept Art Looks AMAZING For Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley Return! [PHOTO]

The 35 year-old director is more than able to recreate creatures from outer space after his widely successful independent film "District 9," but his credentials don't stop fans of the franchise that turned Sigourney Weaver into a sci-fi superstar from being amazed every time Neill Blomkamp's "Alien" concept art is released!

Fresh off the film where he met Weaver as well as Hugh Jackman, "Chappie," the South African director is currently working on Neill Blomkamp's "Alien" project, already approved to be in the official development stages, with its star Ellen Ripley marking her return to the Nostromo ship after nearly 20 years away.

According to Empire Online, the latest Neill Blomkamp "Alien" concept art made its debut appearance on the director and writer's Instagram, and it features some great throwback as well as an amazing-looking scene with Weaver with Michael Biehn's character Hicks (whose face got sprayed with acid in "Aliens").

Back in March, the first bits featuring Neill Blomkamp "Alien" concept art, in what was then just an imaginary project, sparked the interest of fans and producers alike, and after they became viral it was time for the studio that created the franchise, Fox, to actually offer the director the chance to create the new project - which will be reportedly set after the second film, possibly ignoring the third and fourth ones completely.

"My favorites are the first two movies, so I want to make a film that's connected to Alien and Aliens," said Neill Blomkamp of "Alien" a few months back, according to Slash Film. "That's my goal. I'm not trying to undo 'Alien 3' or 'Alien: Resurrection,' I just want it to be connected to Alien 1 and 2."

As Screen Rant reports, this setting will give Blomkamp the chance to mold the franchise after its most successful films, as the third and fourth installments of "Aliens" tanked critically and with fans - but the Neill Blomkamp "Alien" concept art still looks absolutely amazing!
