iPad Mini Release Date Rumor for October 10 Launch; Reports of Apple Ordering 10M Units

Apple is reported to have ordered 10 million units of the iPad Mini for the upcoming holiday shopping season. According to the WSJ, rumors for the iPad Mini release date has it that Apple will be sending out invitations on October 10th, with an unveiling of the product on October 17th, and launch on November 2nd.

Compared to the current iPad, which has a display of 9.7 inches, the rumored iPad Mini will have a 7.85-inch display. That is still approximately 40% larger than other 7-inch tablets, according to Gizmodo.

New video of the iPad Mini is stirring up buzz about the potential new iPad next month. The video from Giz China shows a 7-inch dummy iPad Mini, with a lightning connector, 3g or 4g antenna, micro SIM card, and a new volume toggle.

According to Forbes.com, pricing could be starting at $299 for a 16 GB model, $399 for a 32 GB model and $499 for a 64 GB model.

We'll need to wait and see if the invitation to the unveiling of the iPad Mini comes out this week. If the iPad Mini is real, will you buy one?
