Mark Zuckenberg On Being The Last to Know About New Facebook Features- Company Secrets Revealed

Being the founder of Facebook, Mark Zucherberg is the last to know about the cool new features that his company has added. According to Business Insider, the company's developer advocate James Pearce has spilled some details about this fact.

The business website interviewed Pearce regarding this and he explained that it is because Zuckerberg is really not the one in charge of that department and it's all because of this company thing called the Hackamonth.

It is like a boot camp for all Facebook engineers that happen yearly and they are encouraged to do something else aside from the job description. It all began back in 2011 where all the company's engineers would meet up for a month and brainstorm to come up with new cool ideas to add for Facebook.

Pearce said that it was kind of like how Google employers wok on 20% of their time doing side projects, only more intense. For someone who has been working in the tech industry for the long time, he is still shocked to know something like this is even done inside Facebook. He said that he hasn't seen anything like it.

Projects that came out from their Hackamonth are the popular Like button and even the new Timeline view. There are a lot of other features that came from that boot camp on steroids and this is why Zucherberg is the last to know about all of these.

Some of the technical problems in the site were also resolved in their so-called Hackamonth. An engineer has the option to join it and once he or she is ready to work on a project, the company will assign him or her to a team where he or she could be a part of. Facebook has a system that determines the designation of an engineer's team.
