The guys behind the 2014 science-themed documentary "The Immortalists," David Alvarado and Jason Sussberg, have now officially launched a Bill Nye Kickstarter to create "The Bill Nye Film," a documentary set to follow the iconic Science Guy as he continues his quest to fight climate change deniers and get everyone interested in science projects.

According to Time Magazine, the television host is fully involved in the Bill Nye Kickstarter, with Alvarado and Sussberg saying in their video that the film would be a "full access, exclusive" one about the iconic mechanical engineer and author who became a science superstar in the 1990s.

Of course, making a film requires money, which is the reason for the Bill Nye Kickstarter, as Alvarado and Sussberg taking to the fundraising website to get the $650 necessary to make the movie, with fun rewards such as Science Guy emojis, a PDF from the scientist's handwritten notes from his famous debate with Ken Hamm, dog bow ties to recreate his iconic style on your pet and even getting Nye to give a science talk at a school when donating $10,000.

As AV Club reports, nowadays Nye's teachings focus on grown-ups rather than on children, as he travels the world giving talks about important science-related issues to people, trying to get them interested in different issues such as climate change.

According to Variety, the producers will include Seth Gordon and Nick Pampenella, the former of whom has an Oscar to his name for the documentary "Undefeated."
