Veteran actor Bill Murray has finally made his first appearance at the San Diego Comic Con. Although the Comic Con has been around for a long time, the 'Lost in Translation' star has never attended the event, until last Thursday.
Murray's entrance in Hall H was met with an almost frenzied standing ovation. The actor was present to promote his new film 'Rock the Kasbah,' but all he wanted to do was clear up all those pesky 'Star Wars' rumors.
"I don't know if I was ever up for Han Solo," he said with a smile.
It was previously rumored that the role of Han Solo was intended for Bill Murray, but Harrison Ford eventually won the part.
But what about playing the young Han Solo in the upcoming 'Star Wars Anthology' film? Murray joked that he wants the role.
"I'm working out really hard to get this new thing," he said. "I'm swimming a lot, and doing Pilates!"
Bill Murray also proved that he can make people do anything in his favor. The actor convinced the crowd to join him in singing, but they can belt out any song that they wanted. He then said, in true Bill Murray fashion, "It sounded very joyous. It sounded good. Thank you."
The magic didn't end when Murray stepped backstage. The 'Zombieland' star ran into young actress Jennifer Lawrence, who immediately lost her cool.
The actress, who attended Comic Con to promote 'The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 2,' couldn't help but turn into a fangirl when she found herself beside Murray.
Murray was happy to pose for pictures with Lawrence, who couldn't contain her joy in meeting the icon.
'Rock the Kasbah' is directed by Barry Levinson and also stars Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson and Zooey Deschanel. It is scheduled for release on October 23, 2015.
