Some celebrities like Jamie Kennedy, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, and Britney Spears have been known to use the dating app called Tinder. Spotting users that pose as other celebrities on Tinder is now easier with the new feature.

Much like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, Tinder now has the Verified Profiles feature. Tinder announced on Tuesday, "Now when notable public figures, celebrities and athletes appear in your recommendations, you'll know it's for real."

Vice president of global communication and branding at Tinder, Rosette Pambakian told the Huffington Post: "Many celebrities were telling us that no one believes it is really them on Tinder, so we launched verified profiles to authentic users who are notable public figures."

Like any other app, scammers, and fake profiles are also prevalent in the dating app. These issues have raised apprehensions regarding security as well as catfishing.

Back in March, Sean Rad, former Tinder CEO, told The Hollywood Reporter that some celebrities who made use of the app often only had a number of matches, simply because people thought their profiles were fake.

During the time of the interview, Sean Rad noted that the company was in the works of creating a system to verify users' profiles.

This would "allow celebrities to enter Tinder in a different way," which would then counteract the apprehension of users regarding the profiles of celebrities.

Furthermore, Tinder users who would want to verify their profiles could simply email the company at verified@tinder.com in order to be considered for the system, as stated by Rosette Pambakian.

Each verification request will then be carefully reviewed by the company's team. However, only "notable public figures will be considered, including celebrities and athletes" - at least for now.

But hey, at least it's easier to spot these celebs now. Who knows, a Tinder user might find himself on Hilary Duff's next music video as a result of a Tinder match!
