McDonald's has recently took advantage of the popularity of the upcoming "Minions" movie by creating a promotional campaign featuring the adorable characters of the film in their Happy Meals. However, the minion toys that are meant for children are alarming costumers more than amusing them.
The cute and innocent-looking minion toys seems to be not innocent at all. One of the toys is discovered to be speaking the phrase "What the f*ck!" when tapped. A video has been uploaded on Youtube confirming the disturbing news.
Watch the video below and listen carefully to the minion's word when tapped.
Parents who are purchasing these toys for their kids are not happy with the discovery, which may cause negatively influence their children. One grandparent expressed his reaction over the news.
"It turned out to be a toy that decided to talk profanity. I can't believe it's coming out of a toy," Bradley Merten said.
Another parent named Taylor King believes that the toy is speaking a language that is inappropriate for his children.
The news was broadcasted by the WFTV Eyewitness News in Florida, which intensified the issue. However, many are finding it difficult to assess whether it is true or just another act to take the fast food chain down.
One spokesperson of McDonald's has released a statement to clarify the issue regarding the foul language of the promotional toy. The food company's Media Relations Director Lisa McComb wrote that the Minions speak the language called 'Minionese'. It is composed of different languages and nonsense words combined randomly.
"'Minionese' has no translation to, or meaning in any recognized language. Any perceived similarities to words used within the English language are purely coincidental," clarified the director.
The director added that the words of the Minion Caveman are gibberish and meaningless. Contrary to the complaints of some parents, the toy's words are actually "para la bukay," "hahaha," and "eh eh."
